What turns raw materials into a masterwork ?
For much of human history the arts have been subject to mystery, awe and admiration. Aristoteles, the ancient Greek Philosopher shedded some light on the matter in his treatise on Poetics. In which, focusing mainly on epics and tragedy, describes a value oriented esthetics to judge works of any craft, be it music, literature, architecture, painting or sculpting. He denotes clear distinctions between the medium and the theme, both of which a craftsman must master to create poetic works. Poetics is the art of representing universal truths through sounds, words, images and objects, our studio explores the tradition of visual mediums of painting, sculpting, architecture & decorative arts.
He is a constant student of traditional architecture, vernacular building (dome building, adobe, wood), decorative crafts (stone carving, moulding, ceramic, stained glass, Ikebana) and has been a student of traditional Architecture & Crafts at La table Ronde De L'Architecture, of figure painting from Melisa Calabria & figure sculpting at the Dutch Academy of Figurative Sculpture, as well as other private craftsmen, instructors and institutions.
